Patriotic Star

Here is a patriotic / nautical wooden star I decorated with Graphic 45 By the Sea papers, washi tape, and bling.

I traced a pattern for each section of the star to cut from paper. It took some planning because I wanted all the anchors situated in the same direction. I inked the edges with blue before gluing them down. I also added a band of washi tape around the edge of the star to finish off the border. I created a small rosette and attached it to the center of the star with a small tag on top. Then I added the bling star and swirls.

I really like how it turned out. I didn't measure it, but to give you an idea it's about 8" -9" tall. This is the star that's sitting on my piano as seen in the post about the paper fireworks.

Barbecue Grill Father's Day Cards

I made these two cuties for Father's Day. Barbecue grill box cards cut from silver cardstock and silver glitter cardstock. The oven mitts are cut from Graphic 45 cardstock. For the beer bottles, I cut them from clear acrylic then hand colored them with a brown Sharpie. I added the silver bottle caps cut from scraps of silver. I love that the beer bottles are transparent like glass. The cards have a greeting on the back that says, "Hope you have a SIZZLIN Father's Day!" The cards fold flat to mail.

Kitty Card

I made this card for a friend's birthday. I sized it all in Design Space and cut it on the Cricut. I combined several different cuts, like the kitty in the dresser, the kitty with the yarn, the curtains (which is really a stage curtain cut smaller). I created the white window pane separator in Cricut Design Space by combining two rectangular lines together. I added the yellow "wallpaper," red "molding," twine curtain tie backs, cloud paper window, and green bling dresser knobs. I drew the kitty faces and the gray one cracks me up! I'm sure there are moments in my day when I have that same expression on my face. LOL I think it's pretty cute!  Inside says Have a purrfect birthday!

Birthday Fish

I made this card for my dad's birthday. The pattern is from svgcuts.com. I cut the card from a nautical red/white/blue cardstock, overlayed with an embossed piece of vellum and then an embossed red cardstock stripe. The fish is layered with blue, gray, and patterned blue cardstock. I inked all the edges and used my score board to enhance the fins. I topped it off with rhinestone swirls and rhinestone "bubbles." It's a summery and nautical card, but I'd also say there's something "fishy" about it. Oh ha ha, right? That's just my corny side coming out.
